LOCATION
Our beautiful new house is located on a hill, in Sorengo in the Lugano district, just 2 km from its center; it is surrounded by greenery and overlooks the Muzzano lake (nature reserve).
Many years ago it successfully hosted the SantAbbondio restaurant, by Chef Martin Dalsass, and as a tribute to the past of this historic location, which collects the memories of many people, we decided for an initial period to leave the historic sign to welcome guests on the access road.
History has always been part of our future and with humility and commitment we are preparing to restore this intimate and romantic location to its former glory, both inside and on the magnificent terrace overlooking the lake.
Felix Lo Basso Restaurant presents two exclusive proposals inside: a room dedicated to the experience with Chef Lo Basso and two rooms that host the à la carte experience. The outdoor area features an area immersed in nature with its pergola and terrace, but the garden will also be the protagonist of unforgettable moments.
The Muzzano lake nature reserve represents a precious corner of nature on the outskirts of the city of Lugano. Situated in a hilly area, it has an altitude of 337 meters above sea level. Of relatively modest dimensions, it measures 780 m in length and 337 in width at its maximum. The total surface area amounts to just over 200,000 m2, the overall volume of water to approximately 600,000 m3.
The lake owes its origin to the action of glaciers. Its location coincides with the place where an arm of the Ticino glacier and one of the Adda glacier joined together. The depression created by the erosive action of the glaciers, upon their retreat, filled with water, whose average depth today is 2.95 m and the maximum depth is 3.35.
